I have attended this class several years now and those Thursdays are the highlight of my week. The studio is a very professional set up with plenty of space and all the tools you could possibly need. Melanie is a wonderful and very skilled teacher and a very talented maker herself.
You will broaden your skill set and get inside in the industry at the same time. 7 weeks is a good time frame to work on your project or try your hand on a new technique.
I highly recommend Squarepeg Studios for any course but especially the Atelier one.

I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for Mel and the experience I’ve had learning under her guidance over the past two terms.
Mel brings such a calm, reassuring energy to her classes — creating an environment where learning feels both structured and creative. She encourages work that is well-made and thoughtfully executed, yet never demands perfection. This balance allows space for growth and confidence to develop naturally at the bench.
Throughout my time with Mel, I’ve encountered many challenges — technical hurdles, repairs, and the occasional piece that didn’t go quite as planned. Each time, Mel has had a thoughtful, practical solution. She has an exceptional ability to see what can be repaired, reshaped, or reimagined, and to explain the process with clarity and patience.
Her knowledge runs deep, and her generosity in sharing it makes every session deeply valuable. I leave her classes not only with new skills, but with a stronger sense of trust in my own making process.
I feel very fortunate to be part of Square Peg Studios and to have the opportunity to learn from such an experienced and grounded teacher.
